I wish you ALL could have been here yesterday for the street dedication, but I know you were with me!  It was a wonderful day, much greater than my wildest imagination!  We had a very nice breakfast reception before the ceremony.  I got to meet Pete Coors and what a tremendous gentleman!  We had a great talk, and you can all be assured I told him how much you ALL enjoy his beer - even you 1LT (P) (Almost)!!!

I had a speech prepared, and I was very confident I could get through this one without a hitch - that was until I met SGT Jon Stiles’ mom.  He was the other soldier honored yesterday with a street dedication, and talking to her and hugging her got very emotional for me.  Fortunately our brother Tony Abbott stepped up to the plate and knocked his speech out of the part which set me up for my speech.  As with every other time I have ever talked about Chris in public, I do fine until I talk about Chris’ brothers - you all have my heart and all my love, and when I talk about you all, everyone in the room soon finds out how much I love you!

The actual dedication and unveiling ceremony was very nice.  The 2 streets are in a new construction area, and normally there is lots of dust, but just before the 100+ car caravan got to the site, the wind stopped blowing and the weather was perfect.  I have attached a couple of pictures, and will send out more as I get them.  The SSG Chris Falkel Dr. sign has the SF Crest, and it looks incredibly great!  As one of our brothers said, having the SF Crest only is for ALL our brothers, and that is just what it felt like when I looked up at the sign for the first time!

The ceremony was for ALL of you reading this, because without you, I could not get through the day - not to mention the rest of my life!  It was a great day to talk to the people of our town, and truly let them know that SSG Chris Falkel and SGT Jon Stiles are indeed more than just a name!!!
